Laura has been teaching ballroom dance for 8 years. She loves teaching dance because, "I have the chance to get to know so many people of different personalities and various walks of life." Laura hopes to teach her gentlemen students how to make a lady feel wonderful in their arms and completely at ease on the dance floor.
Laura's favorite dances are samba -- "for when I'm in the mood to really move" -- and bolero for a slow graceful dance. "But," she says, "salsa is always fun!" She says that if she weren't teaching dance she would be in massage therapy or health care. Her other talents include sculpting, ceramics, charcoal sketches, painting and costume design.
In high school Laura performed with the Paseo Academy of Fine & Performing Arts and with MO Dance Theatre in Kansas City MO. and City In Motion. In college she performed with Webs of Motion in Santa Fe, NM. Her hobbies include hiking, camping, sewing, crossword puzzles, jewelry making, shopping, reading cookbooks and never cooking anything. No real pets, she says, but she has a philodendron named Sam.
Laura's favorite music is old punk rock or reggae. She thinks the most heavenly food on earth is popcorn and her favorite colors are sage green and blood red. She would enjoy having dinner with Bob Marley and her favorite vacation spot would be the Rocky Mountains or the beaches of the Bahamas. Laura says the three words that best describe her personality are attentive, mindful and meticulous.
