Sarah Briggs

Sarah has been dancing since the age of twelve, when she began studying ballet. She trained on full scholarship at Kansas City Ballet, Harid Conservatory, Kirov Academy, The Royal Winnipeg Ballet, and the School of American Ballet in New York. During that time, she had the opportunity to perform leading roles in many ballets and to work with some of the greatest teachers and dancers in the world, including Alla Sisova and Mikhail Baryshnikov.

Although her primary focus was ballet, she also studied modern, jazz, character, flamenco and pas de deux, and received training in anatomy, physiology, dance history, music and choreography. After an injury ended her performing career, Sarah accepted a dance scholarship to the University of Kansas. She found her true passion when she began teaching her freshman year, and has continued ever since.

In 2009, Sarah began teaching at TC, where she has the chance to share her love of dance every day. Her favorite dances are Waltz and West Coast Swing, and she loves to go out Salsa and country dancing after work. Sarah strives to teach her students to be patient with themselves and their partner throughout the learning process. Enriching her students' lives through dance is an incredibly rewarding experience, and Sarah feels lucky to have the opportunity to work with and get to know each one of them.
