BOLERO AIDA
TC Dance Club Kansas City

The beautiful Bolero has some similarities to Rumba and there is an Aida pattern done in both dances. Both dances take three steps to four beats of music, and are done to music in 4/4 time. But the Bolero basic step, a long sweeping step to the side on the "slow" followed by the rock step on the "quick, quick", gives the Bolero Aida a uniquely graceful look. The Bolero Aida employs both Smooth Dance technique and Latin technique. The Bolero uses a rise and fall action in its basic step, as does the Waltz. And in the Bolero Aida, we utilize the Latin Cuban Motion on the rock step.

Video 1 will first show you what the Aida pattern in Bolero looks like. Then we'll break down for the Gentleman's footwork in the pattern and then the Lady's footwork. Video 2 shows you what our Bolero Aida pattern looks like when danced to music.
