One of the most beautiful, as well as one of the most popular or all ballroom dances, the Waltz is the expression of elegance in dancing. It is the dance most often done by the bride and groom on their wedding day and is a favorite of beginning and advanced ballroom dancers alike.
The Waltz is one of a group of dances called "smooth dances", which also include Foxtrot, Tango and Quickstep. Smooth dances have a wide dance frame, different from the "Latin" dance frame of dances such as Cha Cha, Salsa and Menengue. The video below describes the Waltz dance frame, gives instructions for the Waltz basic box step, for both the man and lady, and shows the basic step done to music.
