What makes this dance parttern fun is that both partners get to be a little sexy. The lady gets to tease, tempt and flirt as she does her walks around her partner, and the gentleman gets to first show off his lady and then dominate her as he ends her walks by bringing her back to him. As is often the case in Latin ballroom, the dance reflects a bit of the battle of the sexes -- and a bit of the sexes when they are not battling. All making for a great show and great dancing fun.
Video 1 shows you the Rumba Open Cuban Walks from 5ths pattern, then breaks down the man's footwork and then the lady's footwork for the step. Video 2 (below) demonstrates how to achieve the "style" and "look" of this flirtatious pattern -- and have fun doing it. Video 2 then shows the importance of the correct lead for the gentleman in this pattern, and lastly we see the Rumba Open Cuban Walks from 5ths done to music.
