Push Pull is also known as the Hustle, most specifically the New York Hustle. But whereas the Hustle has syncopated timing, Push Pull is not syncopated. This is a simple, easy dance that everyone can learn quickly. It is fun and fast paced and can be danced to disco music as well as a variety of contenporary songs. The basic step consists of a rock step and two marching steps in place. Perfect for crowded dance floors, it is a "spot" dance, and doesn't travel across the floor. At the same time, it's basic pattern allows for lots of rotation and a wide variety exciting turns and wraps.
Video 1 shows the simple basic step (called the Time Step), with both partners and demonstrates rotating the basic step. It then breaks down the footwork individually for the Lady. Video 2 breaks down the footwork for the Gentleman and then shows the dance done to music. You'll see underarm turns as well as patterns like the Triangle, Throw Out, Back Pass, Overhead Wrap, Flirtation Break and Continuous Sweetheart.
