TC Dance Club Kansas City adds new video dance lessons each month, covering ballroom dances such as Waltz, Tango, Rumba, Foxtrot, Salsa, Cha Cha, Swing and many other Smooth as well as Latin and Rhythm dances. Dance videos are free to view at our web site and cover both the gentleman's and ladies footwork as well as pointers on the style and technique of the dance.

RUMBA

Rumba is the ballroom dance that is known above all others as the dance of romance. Danced to slow, provocative music, the Rumba gets it's Latin flavor and styling from the rhythmic movement of the dancers' hips and bodies, a technique called Cuban Motion.

This video shows Rumba dance frame position, footwork for the basic box step, for both the gentleman and for the lady. Then the Rumba is danced to music, and features beginning steps such as the basic box step, 5th positions breaks, open breaks, crossover breaks, underarm turns, and more intermediate steps such as cross body leads, 1st and 4th position breaks, and Cuban walks from 5th position.
